In the first of a new series, we’ll be taking a closer look at some of the popular options and specification users are selecting when purchasing their new and second hand sprayers. This 2020 Interceptor is headed into Northamptonshire and will be looked after by our dealer Chandlers Farm Equipment.
Norac UC7 Active Roll
Our top of the line boom levelling setup, the Norac UC7 Active Roll system is fitted with 5 ultrasonic sensors each incorporating gyroscopes to sense boom motion. UC7 utilises not only the variable geometry cylinders, but also the boom centre frame to offer an extremely stable boom in all field conditions.
Controlling each nozzle with an individual pulsing valve Raven Hawkeye PWM allows users to specify pressure, application rate and droplet sizing from the cab. Each setting is maintained regardless of forward speed to ensure precise targeted applications at all times. Built in turn compensation prevents under and over dosing across the whole boom.
Chafer ePlumbing
Designed in house, Chafer ePlumbing offers touch button control of liquid flows from the cab seat and the operators station. Fully automated filling, rinsing and dilution systems maximise efficiency by reducing down time and removing the chance of error. All valves used in our ePlumbing system offer feedback so users can be confident all operations have been performed as requested.
Additional Mud Guarding
With weather conditions as they have been in the U.K. many machines are being specified with full length rear Mud Flaps and our Boom Mud Covers. With boom levelling operators are able to run the boom at 50cm and below, in this position nozzles are more susceptible to accumulating a build up of mud, so additional guarding reduces the chances of blocked nozzles.
3rd Party Applicator Mounting
The customer asked us to provide a rise and fall mounting solution for their Techneat Avacast applicator. At the same time we also provided mountings for the outlets on the booms, removing the need for the customer to retrofit these on delivery. The rise and fall mechanism operates on a sliding system to keep the hopper as close to the cab a possible.
Lightweight Towing Eye
Designed for towing a lightweight trailer, the retractable towing eye allows growers to move additional capacity around with them. A ratchet system is used for easy stowage to ensure late season crop clearance, with the assembly being pinned in both positions for security.
Michelin AxioBib 2
Able to run fully laden at 50kph with pressures below 1 bar, the AxioBib 2 from Michelin is the market leader in VF tyre technology. Popular across our trailed and self propelled sprayer ranges for growers looking to reduce compaction with a product they can be confident will give years of trouble free operation. When purchasing Michelin tyres an on farm visit from a Michelin technician is included to optimise the inflation pressures on your sprayer.
Topcon X35 and Seat Upgrades
The Raven PWM system is fully ISObus compatible, so the customer was able to retain their preferred Topcon X35 terminal and auto steering system. This helps with not only existing data transfer setup on the farm, but also operator familiarity when moving between sprayer brands. An upgraded Grammer Actimo XL seat was also specified.
