This week we’re taking a look at these two top spec 36m trailed machines sold through Chandlers Farm Equipment and headed for Leicestershire. The specification on these machines would put most self propelled sprayers to shame with Pulse Width Modulation, 5 sensor boom levelling, ePlumbing, AirPurge and hydraulic pressure washers being just a few of the highlights!
Norac UC7 Active Roll
Our top of the line boom levelling setup, the Norac UC7 Active Roll system is fitted with 5 ultrasonic sensors each incorporating gyroscopes to sense boom motion. UC7 utilises not only the variable geometry cylinders, but also the boom centre frame to offer an extremely stable boom in all field conditions.
Controlling each nozzle with an individual pulsing valve Raven Hawkeye PWM allows users to specify pressure, application rate and droplet sizing from the cab. Each setting is maintained regardless of forward speed to ensure precise targeted applications at all times. Built in turn compensation prevents under and over dosing across the whole boom. Both machines are fitted with TeeJet air inclusion nozzles from the factory.
Chafer ePlumbing & AirPurge
Designed in house, Chafer ePlumbing offers touch button control of liquid flows from the cab seat and the operators station. Fully automated filling, rinsing and dilution systems maximise efficiency by reducing down time and removing the chance of error. All valves used in our ePlumbing system offer feedback so users can be confident all operations have been performed as requested. Our AirPurge system allows cleaning of lines using pneumatic pressure stored in additional reservoirs on the machine.
Additional Mud Guarding
Our Norac Active Roll boom levelling system allows operators to run the boom at 50cm and below, during pre ems the nozzles are more susceptible to accumulating a build up of mud, so additional guarding on the boom reduces the chances of blocked nozzles and a build up of soil in the frame.
Stainless Steel Protection
Stainless steel tanks and fixings are standard fitment on all Chafer trailed and self propelled sprayers. Available as options our stainless steel under body sheeting protects taller crops as they pass under the machine, with additional guarding on the tip frames offering additional protection on the headlands and while passing telegraph poles.
One Set or Two?
These trailed machines will be running on Mitas 520/85 R42s all year round. Being slightly narrower than the tractor tyres ensures no further crop damage occurs as the sprayer passes through, while a tall diameter ensures a large contact patch allowing the sprayer to travel comfortably all year round.
Superior Machine Cleaning
Specified in place of the standard wash down reel, a hydraulically driven pressure washer allows thorough cleaning of the machine without any additional equipment, keeping chemical residue in the field or in bunded areas.
Additional Lighting Packs
Nordic LED lighting illuminates the spray pattern allowing the operator to monitor spray quality and drift easily in all conditions. In addition to the standard road lighting mounted on the rear of the boom, an additional pair have been fitted to the mudguards to provide more illumination for increased road safety.
