Agroband

Fertilizer which is precisely placed in the soil is more efficiently used by potatoes. Better and more yields are possible, and fertilizer application rates can often be reduced.  The Agroband fertilizer placement unit from Horstine Farmery has been designed to combine the benefit of efficient modern fertilizer handling with the financial benefit from fertilizer placement for the potato crop.

The easily detached unit is front mounted to counter-balance the weight of the potato planter and has a large covered hopper capable of being filled from a 600kg bag of fertilizer. 

Fertilizer is metered to the coulters by ground wheel drive ensuring correct application at all speeds. The two row machine has fully adjustable twin coulters per row which are positioned in and out of work by a hydraulic ram.  Fertilizer bands in the soil can be precisely positioned in relation to the seed tubers.  Deep placement is possible with application rates of up to 1625 kg/ha.

Agroband Bed Applicator

The Bed Top Agroband is used to precisely apply fertilizer without wasting fertilizer through application to the tractor wheelings. Utilizing the same hopper and metering system as a standard Agroband this system can help to reduce fertilizer rates by precisely where it is needed by the crop.

Fertilizer is metered to the fishtails outlet by ground wheel drive ensuring correct application at all speeds. Fishtails ensure even application across the top of bed ensuring fertilizer is not wasted through application to the wheelings. Application rates of up to 1625 kg/ha are achievable.

Jumbo Applicator

The Jumbo applicator is a "positive displacement applicator" (PDA), used to accurately apply large or small quantities of granular fertilizer. When turned, the fluted rotors meter precise quantities of granules and delivers them in a steady accurate stream to the ground through delivery tubes.

Accuracy - the Jumbo Applicator applies granular fertilizer at precise rates.

Uniform application - the Jumbo Applicator ground speed related drive elimates the chances of over and under application as forward speed changes.

Ease of calibration – Combination of sprokets and rotor sizes gives a wide range of applicator rates from 60 – 1000kg/ha and this can be doubled by using two outlets per row.

Operator friendly - Jumbo Fert hoppers are translucent, allowing the operator to constantly monitor granule level from the tractor cab.

Weatherproof - polyethylene hoppers are seam free with hinged rainproof lids, with rubber hopper seals between the hopper and metering unit.

Airstream can be used in a variety of applications to maximise the accuracy of fertilizer application in cereals, salad and vegetable crops. Fitted with a high capacity stainless steel hopper and hydraulically driven fan Airstream is capable of delivering fertilizer or seed to any rear mounted implement.
