Chafer Machinery offer a wide range of airfield de-icers designed to simplify deicing operations and to maximise the efficiency of deicer usage. All machines are designed to be simple to operate, easy to maintain and to offer a high degree of de-icing precision. Over the past 15 years Chafer Machinery has built up a wealth of experience both in commercial and military applications.

Chafer’s range of de-icers cater for airfields of all sizes large and small. Simple 3000L capacity tractor trailed machines through to 16000L de-icers mounted on a step frame chassis are available. Each machines comprehensive specification can be enhanced through the addition of optional equipment such as GPS controlled automatic spray control. 

All Chafer de-icers are custom built and can be tailored to suit the specific requirements of any airfield.

Automatic Boom Section Control available on all Chafer de-icers

Chafer de-icers are now available with the option of automatic boom section (ASC) control to increase the accuracy of de-icer application.

Using a GPS position, the ASC system accurately monitors where de-icer has been applied. When the spray boom overlaps an area that has been already applied, de-icer application is shut off automatically. This saves over application of valuable de-icer offering significant cost savings. Where the boom enters an area where de-icer hasn’t been applied application automatically restarts. This minimises the chance of missed areas which could cause a safety hazard. ASC also makes operation of the de-icer easier and more accurate.

Chafer Machinery have a wide range of used sprayers available for hire or purchase. Any of these machines can be used for de-icing applications and can be modified according to individual airfield requirments.
