SIMPLE AND EASY TO USE
Operating a crop sprayer should always be a simple, stress free process. The new range of Chafer trailed machines ensure whatever the workload, spraying can remain just that. From the perfectly laid out workstation, the operator can fill, induct and wash out the sprayer in complete confidence. As well as our manual plumbing systems, the new range now offers users our “ePlumbing” automatic plumbing system, allowing complete control of all spraying functions at the touch of a button.
Chafer’s new ePlumbing system optimises plumbing operations across the sprayer, making processes faster and easier to improve productivity by reducing downtime. Controlled via a 7” colour eTerminal at the filling station, operators can choose plumbing modes at the touch of a button, as well as utilising automatic filling, dilution and rinsing programs for accurate liquid control. Liquid control has never been easier. ePlumbing is fitted as standard on ‘e’ specification models and is available as an option on standard and ISObus machines.
Using the encoder on the right of the eTerminal allows selection of all the plumbing modes required for spraying, filling, rinsing and transfer liquid around the machine. Once selected the manifold systems operates the electric control valves ensuring liquid is directed exactly where it is required.
Both the main spray and clean water tanks can be filled automatically using the eFill program. Operators select the tank to be filled and can choose from half fills, full fills or program in the exact tank level required. The machine will then fill the chosen tank to the correct level before shutting off the pump and closing the valves to prevent back feeding of liquid.
If chemical remains in the spray tank at the end of a days spraying eDilute can be used to quickly and accurately dilute the remaining chemical volume before spraying out. Operators simply chose the required dilution ratio and the sprayer automatically dilutes the chemical with water from the clean water tank.
Rinsing out the sprayer is vital part of the spraying process preventing residue build up and more importantly removing the opportunity for crop damage to occur through cross contamination of chemicals. eClean has modes for both quick machine rinses at the end of the day and full cleans required when moving between chemicals.
EXTRA ‘E’ FUNCTIONS
ePlumbing is standard fitment on ‘e’ spec machines, but also offers growers increased usability compared to standard models. On the ‘e’ models the systems can be controlled not only through the external screen but from the in cab touch screen as well. This allows operators to adjust plumbing modes, program tank fills & carry out machine rinsing without having to leave the tractors seat.
Chafer has long held a reputation for producing simple to operate application machinery. Our manual plumbing system utilises two five way rotary valves to control the flow of liquid through the sprayer. These two valves, one for liquid suction source (3” porting) and the other for liquid destination (2” porting), allows the operator to control every spraying function from tank fill to tank rinse. Further ancillary valving controls the liquid output further for increased operational control. All valves are marked by simple to follow diagrams allowing operators unfamiliar with the machine to use the sprayer with confidence.
