Topcon X20 Sprayer Control

Topcon - Guidance Screen 200 All Chafer sprayers are now available with the option of Topcon X20 to increase sprayer productivity and accuracy.

The Topcon X20 console has the ability to control not only pressure based application rate control but also automated boom section control, field guidance and record keeping. The addition of a ProSteer ECU also enables Topcon to control automated steering.

Topcon X20 is ideal for customers wanting to maximize the efficiency of chemical and fertilizer use especially with input prices on the increase. Growers using Topcon X20 can benefit from significant chemical and fertilizer savings plus sprayer operators are able to concentrate on boom operation and driving accurately while the Topcon X20 takes control of boom section switching.

Chafer Contour Automatic Boom Leveling

Contour - Sensor on boom working Chafer Contour designed and developed by Chafer Machinery enables sprayer booms to follow ground contours without the need for adjustment from the operator. Working automatically using ultrasonic sensors mounted on the boom, Contour can help to minimize operator fatigue and ensures spraying accuracy by maintaining a consistent boom height. Booms fitted with independent boom tilt also benefit from Contour’s headland lift facility. This innovative system automatically raises each side of the boom when the master sprayer switch is turned off. This protects the boom as the sprayer travels around the headland and once the spray switch is turned on again the boom returns to its normal spraying position.

So how does Contour work? Although a complex computer program runs the system the only input required from the operator is to switch Contour on. Everything from then on works automatically. When the operator drives into the field and deploys the boom to its correct working height the ultrasonic sensors take a reference measurement and try to maintain the boom at the reference position above the crop automatically adjusting the boom hydraulics.

Contour is available as an option on all Chafer sprayers, it requires no specialist hydraulic modifications and can be retrofitted to many older machines.

TeeJet 844 Spray Rate Controller

All Chafer sprayer are fitted as standard with a TeeJet 844 automatic rate controller. The TeeJet 844 Sprayer Control offers spraying advantages not found in other controllers. Designed with simplicity in mind, computer controlled spraying has never been so easy. Simply set your target application rate and the unique VisiFlo display on the 844 helps select the right TeeJet tip for the application. Once spraying begins, the large display shows application rate, volume sprayed, system pressure, sprayer speed, and area covered.

The built in planning tool on the 844 automatically displays the speed needed to achieve the target rate with the specified tip. It will also calculate the pressure necessary for achieving the target application rate when speed is entered.

Centreline 230BP Automatic Boom Section Control

TeeJet 230 CenterLine 230BP combines effective GPS guidance with automatic boom section control. Guidance modes include parallel, curved AB and headland modes. Setup is quick and easy, and the overhead map view is simple and intuitive.

Automatic boom section control uses your GPS location and a record of sprayed area to automatically switch off any sprayer boom sections that overlap a previously applied area. This capability is very useful on point rows, in situations where swaths are curved, and even at the end of each pass. Reducing overlap saves material inputs, crop stress, fuel, time and operator stress.

Automatic boom section control capability is built into the console and can operate up to 10 sections. Simply connect the appropriate SmartCable to interface with your existing spray rate controller.
